Is traditional therapy just not cutting it anymore?
You’ve done the work. You’ve learned the skills. But something is still holding you back.
You don’t have the time to devote to weekly therapy sessions
You’re trying to make therapy work into your schedule but weekly isn’t happening and bi-weekly isn’t enough. You’re busy and want to put in the work, but it’s so hard to find the time.
You’re seeking deeper, more concentrated healing
EMDR intensives offer a way to go deeper into your healing work in a shorter amount of time—it’s ideal for somone wanting to process something specific, move through a stuck point, or prepare for a major transition.
You’re in the right place.
EMDR intensives can help you accomplish in one session what may take months in traditional therapy.
What is an intensive?
An EMDR intensive is a focused, short-term therapy experience designed to help you make significant progress in a shorter amount of time than traditional talk therapy. Instead of spreading sessions out week after week, we work together for several hours over one or more days. This allows us to stay deep in the work —without losing momentum between sessions—and gives your nervous system the space and continuity it often needs to truly integrate change.
If you’ve done EMDR before, you know that once your brain starts connecting the dots, it can be powerful to stay with that flow. In an intensive, we have the time to follow that healing process more naturally, without having to pause and pick it up days later.
Many people describe EMDR intensives as a way to “get to the heart of it” more quickly. The pace allows for deeper processing, more continuity, and often, a greater sense of relief and understanding in a shorter window of time.

Pre-Intensive Assessment
Before your intensive, we’ll meet for a 90-minute assessment session to make sure the experience is thoughtfully tailored to you. You’ll receive a workbook to help you reflect and organize your thoughts before we meet. During our 90 minute session we’ll review any questions from your pre-work and get specific about what we will be focusing on during your intensive. This preparation helps us clearly identify the best way for your intensive time to serve you and ensures you feel grounded, informed, and ready for the work ahead.

Intensive
Session
Your EMDR intensive is designed to move at your pace. Sessions typically include several hours of focused EMDR work with breaks as needed for rest and reflection. We’ll begin with grounding and review your goals for the day, then move into reprocessing using EMDR and other supportive approaches as needed. The longer format of an EMDR intensive allows us to stay with your process and follow where your mind and body naturally lead, without the usual time constraints of weekly sessions. The goal is to create enough space for meaningful, sustained healing in a contained and supportive environment.

Post-Intensive Follow-Up
After your intensive, we’ll schedule a shorter follow-up session to check in, integrate insights, and talk about next steps. Many people find that the shifts from an intensive continue to unfold in the days and weeks afterward, and this time gives you space to reflect on what’s changed and what might still need attention. Whether you continue with ongoing therapy or simply want to process the experience, the goal of follow-up is to ensure you leave feeling clear on your progress, options for next steps and confident about how to care for yourself moving forward.

In traditional weekly therapy, sessions are usually 50–55 minutes long, and we build insight and healing gradually over time. That pacing can be wonderful for ongoing support, but it can also mean that just as we start to get into deeper material, time runs out—and we have to pause and pick it back up next week.
An EMDR intensive is structured differently. Instead of working in small weekly doses, we set aside a larger block of time—anywhere from a half-day to several days. This uninterrupted time allows your brain and body to stay in the therapeutic process without the usual stops and starts.
You can think of it like the difference between taking one yoga class a week versus going on a retreat. Both are beneficial, but the immersive experience often helps you go further, faster, and return to daily life with a deeper sense of clarity and integration.

EMDR intensives work best for people who are ready to show up for themselves and commit focused time to healing.
You might be a good fit if you:
Have a specific issue or pattern you want to work through more deeply
Feel motivated and open to engaging with emotions as they come up
Want to create momentum that’s hard to build in weekly therapy
Are grounded enough to handle deeper work with support
Readiness doesn’t mean you have to feel “ready” in every way—it just means you’re willing to be present and honest in the process.on text goes here

An EMDR intensive can be helpful when you’re feeling stuck and want to move through something that keeps resurfacing—whether it’s old pain, anxious thoughts, or a pattern you can’t quite shift.
Some of the most common reasons people choose an intensive include:
You’ve experienced trauma or difficult life events that still feel unresolved
You’re carrying anxiety, fear, or shame that doesn’t seem to go away
You keep repeating relationship patterns and want to understand why
You’re in the middle of a big life change and want to feel more grounded
You’re grieving a loss or struggling to make sense of something painful
You’ve done therapy before and are ready to go deeper or clear out what still feels stuck
An intensive gives you the time and space to focus fully on what’s getting in your way—and start feeling more relief and clarity sooner.

There is a workbook you will be provided prior to our required pre-intensive assessment. This workbook will assist us in identifying the areas we want to focus on and determine the best length of intensive.
